Make your own deodorant!

Alcohol, chemical substances, artificial scents, the list of ingredients on the deodorants you can buy in stores is long. And to be honest, noone ever reads them or knows at least half of them. But you spray them under your arm pits and you don't really care about what it does to your skin. Even if the product is without aluminium, you still spray or roll half a chemical factory under your arms. And - most of the time those products don't even do their job. Deodorants aren't made to prevent from sweating, just to prevent the smell. But there is a much healthier and also much less expensive alternative.

There was a time when I thoght that organic and natural products were the limit, and that they were already far from reliable. But now I have found something that I wantes to try. Making my own deodorant. I have tried it over some time now and I can tell for myself - it works. But keep one thing in mind: Every body is different. So if you try this recipe and it doesn't work for you, try once more, mix up the ingredients until you find the right measurements for yourself!

Liquid roll-on deodorant:
100ml water
2 table spoons of cornstarch (Speisestärke)
2 tablespoons of baking soda (Natron)
3-5 drops of tea tree oil
optional: organic essential oils like lavender/ lemongrass/ etc.

Directions:
Mix the water and the cornstarch and bring it to a boil while stiring. Let it cool. Mix baking soda and tea tree oil with the mixture and fill it into an old roll-on-bottle. Keep it in the refrigerator for extra coolness!

Solid deodorant:
Use the same ingredients like above
+ 2table spoons of coconut oil
+ 2 tablespoons of cocoa butter

Directions:
Melt the coconut oil and the cocoa butter over low heat and mix it with with the same mixture like above. Let it cool in the refrigerator over night. This one turns liquid at higher temperatures so it's better to keep it in the refrigerator.
